When I first read about Frank Mir's recent statement about Brock Lesnar, I was horrified by it, and agreed with MANY other fans, that there is NO PLACE for that kind of talk from a professional athlete.
HERE is the original HEADLINE about Frank Mir, as he said on Friday, February 19th on WXDX Radio.
“I want to fight Brock Lesnar. I hate who he is as a person. I want to break his neck in the ring. I want him to be the first person that dies due to Octagon-related injuries.”
Once the actual audio was finally released...His words, though still "harsh" and could have been thought out better...I believe were taken a little out of context!
I'm quite sure his point was; how his "popularity" comes from NOT being the type of fighter who is always "politically correct"...That he "speaks his mind," and then he gave an example (the quote listed above).
I don't think his words should be taken literally!

Again, I'm sure his words could have been thought out better, but let's not tar & feather Mr. Mir quite yet...As, I'm VERY sure that the writers at the MMA News sites would rather have an Outrageous Statement (slightly out of context), which will cause MORE VIEWERS to visit their websites!
This is a BIG WIN for the UFC...Making Mir vs Lesnar III almost guaranteed to happen now, and a BIGGER PPV draw, too!!! I'll buy it...But, I buy most of them!
